Everyone has job search sites they like and everyone has job search sites they hate. You can really use whatever site you are comfortable with. Here are some suggestions:

Remember the power of networking! Most jobs are obtained through personal connections. Be sure to talk with employed friends about possible openings in their companies. Keep your ears open for opportunities in all areas.

If you are the age of 16 to 24, not attending school, and need assistance with achieving your education and employment goals, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program can help. Must be eligible to qualify for WIOA Young Adult Out-of-School Services.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ages 16-24 and not attending school
  • Must be registered in
  • Identification:
    -  Colorado I.D. and signed Social Security Card or​
    -  School I.D. (17 and under), signed Social Security Card, and Birth Certificate
  • And must have one or more of the following barriers:
    -  Youth Offender - Juvenile/criminal justice/court documents, a letter from parole/probation officer or police records.
    -  Pregnant/Parenting - A copy of child's birth certificate, a physician’s note, or a statement from a school program for pregnant teens.
    -  Foster Child - Court letter/court documents or a written statement from a state/local agency stating youth is ward of the state.
    -  Homeless/Runaway - A written statement from a homeless shelter, a written statement from individual providing residence.
    -  Dropout –Letter from school.
    -  Basic Skills Deficient - TABE Test
    -  Youth Needs Assistance – Self-attestation specifying what youth needs assistance for.
    -  Low Income:
        -  TANF/Food Stamps - Arapahoe/Douglas Works! can provide documents.
        -  Supplemental Security Income - Social Security Documents.
        -  Homeless - A written statement from a homeless shelter, a written statement from individual providing residence, and/or self-attestation.
        -  Foster Child - Court documents or written statement from local agency stating you are a ward of the state.
        -  Disability - Medical records, letter from drug/alcohol rehabilitation agency, physician's/psychiatrist's/psychologist's statement, or school records (IEP).  All documents must be less than one year old.
        -  Family Six Month Income* - Social security cards and proof of income (pay stubs, letter from employer, W2). *If you are a homeless youth, foster child, youth with a disability, or are not claimed on parent taxes, you are considered a Household of One. Individual proof of income (for six months) and individual's Social Security Card are required to be eligible under Household of One.

Step 1: Contact a member of our team for a 1:1 appointment

Step 2: Sign Me Up!

At the 1:1 appointment, our team will work with you to complete your eligibility paperwork. If you are missing eligibility documentation, you will have 14 calendar days to provide it to the intake specialist. If required eligibility documentation is not provided within that time, you will be deemed ineligible. 

Step 3: Take TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)

Step 4: Meeting Your Workforce Specialist

You will meet with your Workforce Specialist and develop your pathway to obtain your goals.

It is important to note that your enrollment depends upon your follow through. Failure to complete the enrollment process will result in non-enrollment into WIOA services.

Job Search Assistance/Resources

Job Search Assistance for Young Adults between the ages 16-24.

In order to compete against other job applicants, you need to have a strong résumé, good interviewing skills and a solid understanding of what employers are looking for in a candidate.

The Future U Program offers individually scheduled one-on-one meetings with a Future U Workforce Specialist. These meetings are to assist young adult customers with any job-related assistance that they may need, such as help with job searching, skill development, job fair preparation, resume writing, interview skills, and job retention. For an appointment please, call the numbers below:
