Mental Health First Aid Class – Adults Assisting Adults

Sep 30 09:30 AM - Sep 30 04:00 PM

This is a no-cost Adult Mental Health Class funded by the Center for African American Health.

You are more likely to encounter someone in an emotional crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify someone experiencing a mental health crisis and connect them with help.

Here are a few things you’ll learn in a Mental Health First Aid class:

  • 5-step action plan to access a situation and help
  • Impact of mental and substance abuse use disorders
  • Local resources and where to turn for help

Pre-work will be sent out 2 weeks prior to course start date.

Lunch/Materials provided.
