Coffee, Connections & Career Dreams Realized
The Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Parents to Work Program held their second Coffee with Parents to Work event of the year on June 4th—and once again, it brewed up something special!
This casual morning gathering brought together job-seeking parents over warm coffee, a delicious breakfast, and real conversation. Attendees had the chance to connect with one another, share laughs, and explore the powerful possibilities of apprenticeships. The highlight? A heartfelt and inspiring story from Calvin H.—a parent and veteran who spoke candidly about his post-military journey from job-hopping uncertainty to landing a meaningful apprenticeship helping fellow veterans. His story reminded us that with the right support and opportunities, dream jobs aren’t just possible—they’re within reach.
In addition, the A/D Works! Business Services team provided helpful insights into apprenticeships and information about real opportunities with a local employer.
We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the sense of encouragement and community. Events like this remind us of the power of peer connection, shared resources, and a good cup of coffee.
