What are Competitive Edge Employee Development (CEED) Funds?
CEED funds, funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and administered by Arapahoe/Douglas Works!, are designed to support businesses and nonprofit organizations in Arapahoe and Douglas Counties. The grant empowers organizations by providing training opportunities for current employees. Whether you aim to prevent layoffs or enhance your employees skills for career growth, this grant is here to help. How do CEED Funds Work?
CEED funds are designed to boost the competitiveness of both employees and employers through targeted staff training. Participating employers can choose training programs tailored to meet their company’s unique needs. Upon successful completion and verification of the training, Arapahoe/Douglas Works! will reimburse the employer for approved training costs.

Quick Facts
- Training costs will be reimbursed at 50% to 90% after paid invoice submission
- Designed for short-term trainings
- 51% of training program cohort must be employed with company for more than 6 months
- Employer’s choice of training program and training provider
All participating employees must be classified as W-2 employees
The Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Competitive Edge Employee Development (CEED) Program is 8.3% of WIOA Adult funding provided through the U.S. Department of Labor in the amount up to $100,000.
