Empowering Inclusion: Arapahoe/Douglas Works! and the City of Englewood March Mixer Success
In recognition of Disability Awareness Month, Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Workforce Center, in collaboration with the City of Englewood, hosted an Inclusive Career Mixer. The event was held at the Centennial Workforce Center on March 28, 2024.
The primary focus of the event was to help job seekers facing various barriers to employment. These barriers included those experiencing disabilities, New Americans, individuals experiencing homelessness, and justice-involved individuals. Several employers participated in the mixer, demonstrating their commitment to inclusive hiring practices. Throughout the event, employers actively collected resumes and spoke with job seekers, indicating a promising outlook for potential hires. Additionally, three resource tables were available to offer support and community information.

The turnout for the event marked a 100% increase in attendance compared to previous mixers, highlighting the growing impact on the community. This event highlights the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion and offers everyone who wants to work a opportunity to find a job.
