The Parents to Work Program, a collaboration between Arapahoe County Child Support Services and Arapahoe/Douglas Works!, celebrated an Accomplishment Ceremony on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Together with commissioners, staff, guests, and participants celebrated this momentous occasion. During the event, participants received a certificate of accomplishment outlining the goal they have reached while enrolled in the program.

Some of the achievements celebrated during the event were GED attainment, successful completion of work-based learning programs and apprenticeships, earning a Bachelor’s degree, and training completions for CDL-A, sales, project management, forklift, and more!

In the words of Commissioner Nancy Jackson, “any parent will understand the importance of providing children with the resources they need to thrive.” These parents worked effortlessly to attain their goals in order to become successful and maintain stability for their children and themselves.

The Parents to Work program assists customers who have an open child support case in Arapahoe County (custodial and non-custodial parties) with reaching stability and meeting their child support obligations. Services include intensive case management on both employment and child support side, job search and training assistance, GED preparation, supportive services and many others. Additionally, parents are encouraged to take advantage of parenting workshops, support groups and other activities designed to increase relational and self-sufficiency skills. The program aims to improve independence, financial literacy, and employability—essential elements of a happy family.
